Danke, Diana! You live in such a beautiful part of the world. Are there any Jansons left there? Große Umarmungen from one of the places the Janson's went when they left Balzfeld. ☺
sorry, my english ist not so good. So i need a long time to read this interesting Page. Here we have one Family named Janson, but they come from Dielheim (two villages from Balzfeld). understand i right, you live in Buckman, Portland ?
There is a translator at the top right of the page "Select Language", see? My Jansons came from Dielheim also, and Balzfeld ☺ This is not a great distance anyway, correct? We live in Minnesota, in the center of the USA, near the Canada border, halfway between Portland and New York City...
my eyes are apparently as bad as my english :-( Balzfeld belongs to Dielheim. There are about 7 km (4.5 miles) between. I know the Minnesota Vikings :-D Sometimes football games are broadcast. Minnesota's landscape is so wonderful and impressive. 'm really jealous
Blogging about my dad's side of the family, we realized that mom's was almost neglected. Even tho the Janson family tree's been done back to the 1500's, we know surprizingly little about Jansons in the past 200 years. This blog is an attempt to flesh-out those minimal facts, and to record what we discover. The cool part of blogging about family history is that writing it down forces a certain clarity--facts need to be checked, dates need to mesh--and if I make mistakes, they can be changed later. It's a win-win! :::::::: By the way, "WE" is Larry, researcher extrordinaire, and Marlys, grandaughter of Anton Janson & Margaret Naber Janson.
warm greetings from Balzfeld :-)
