Relative greetings

Talked to Kenny tonight--he said he'd heard from a JANSON in Michigan who's related somehow to the immigrant Johannes (John).  Since our great grandfather Joseph was John's cousin, the Michigan contingent is probably related that way too--the descendants of one of John's brothers or  Daniels brothers, or cousins... 
hope we find out, huh?

    I would be willing to bet that the person in MI is a descendant of Stephan Janson (14 May 1857-abt 1929/30). He was listed as a surviving brother to my great-great grandpa Johannes/John in his obit. Stephan was a half-brother. He married an Anna M. abt 1889 in Germany. Which is also when he immigrated according to census records. I found his family in Jackson, Jackson, MI in 1910 & 1920. His widow was still there in 1930.

    I have the following children for them:
    Valentine (1896-)
    Marie A. (abt 1898-)
    Joseph (abt 1900-bef 1910?)
    Stephen Anthony (1902-1966)
    Carl H. (1906-1973)
    Martha C. (1909-)
    and another infant b. & d. bef 1910.

    Hi, Carrie--GOOD to hear from you ☺ That's exactly who he said he was related through. I thought I'd do a post about it tomorrow.
    We also talked about a possible Janson Reunion next summer--interested?

    That would be cool to do a greater-Janson family reunion. There's one every 5 years for John & Mary's descendants in Sauk Rapids. I think it was last year. I didn't go but went to the last one. Man next year could be a reunion filled summer. They're having one for the Brausen family this summer again but we're not going. My mom & a few cousins are talking about trying to have one next summer for the descendants of my great-grandparents Math & Catherine(Brausen) Meyer to make it smaller. And relatives on my dad's side want to have one too.

    Looking at the header picture here reminds me that I need to go through my grandma's pictures again. I know I have some with that house in the background. Don't know if you knew that my grandpa Janson died in June of 2009 and grandma died August of 2010?
